Benjamin Paul Amos is a goalkeeper of Manchester United. He was born on 10 April 1990 in Macclesfield, England.
In 2001 Ben left Crewe Alexandra and started to train in the Manchester United academy. On 8 October 2005 he made his first appearance as a player of the youth team.
In 2005/2006 Amos was a reserve goalkeeper, but after signing a contract in 2006/2007 he became a first-choice goalkeeper of the youth team.
From 2007 till 2008 Ben was on SAR summer tour with the first team. However, he did not come on the pitch and was an unused substitute in all matches, but on their way back the club had to play against Portsmouth in Nigeria and Amos replaced Tomasz Kuszczak after 76 minutes.
On 23 September 2008 Ben made his debut in the first team in a 3-1 victory against Middlesbrough.
On 14 December 2008 Amos went to Japan with the first team for the FIFA Club World Cup as Ben Foster suffered a hand injury.
On 29 October Amos was sent on a month’s loan to Peterborough United, because their goalkeeper was suspended. However, Ben played only one match for the temporary team against Barnsley and Peterborough lost 1-2.
In January 2010 Ben was sent on loan to the Norwegian side Molde, where he conceded four goals in 10 matches.
On 19 May 2010 the head coach announced Ben Foster left the team and Amos was going to be a third-choice goalkeeper in 2010/2011, but MU bought Lindegaard and Ben was sent on loan to Oldham Athletic. However, now he is a third-choice goalkeeper behind Anders Lindegaard and David de Gea.
