Ben Watson is a midfielder of Wigan. He was born on 9 July 1985 in a London suburb, England.
Ben’s professional career took off in 2003, when he joined the main team of Crystal Palace. The club needed a young and promising defender (even without experience) and Watson fitted that vacancy perfectly. During his first season, the footballer made occasional appearances on the pitch, which did him a lot of good. The following season, the player clinched a place in the starting eleven and became a regular. Ben featured in 169 games and amassed 18 goals for Crystal Palace till 2009.
Wigan Athletic took an interest in the footballer and offered him a contract. In 2009 Watson accepted the offer of ‘Latics’, where he continues to play up till now. The management of the club decided to send Ben on loan to QPR in his début season, and he netted two goals in 16 games for the temporary team. One year later, Watson was loaned out to West Bromwich Albion, where he made seven appearances.
After returning to his parent Wigan Athletic, the footballer began to come on the field more frequently and fired nine goals in 65 matches for ‘Latics’ from 2009 till the summer 2012.
From 2004 till 2006, Ben was capped two times for the England national youth team.
