Boris Galchev was born on 31 October 1983. He is a Bulgarian midfielder of Botev Plovdiv.
Boris was born in Razlog, but grew up in Dobrinishte. His career took off in the youth ranks of Pirin Blagoevgrad. After failing to break through to the first-team, the player left Pirin and joined the amateur club Pirin Razlog. During this period, Galchev combined his football career with work as a woodcutter.
In the 2007/08 season Boris played in the amateur division. His team won first place and was promoted to the B group. After the merger of the 2 clubs from Blagoevgrad in late 2008, the midfielder joined the team that played in the A PFG. He quickly got a place in the main squad and netted 1 goal in 15 games until the end of the 2008/09 season. In July 2009, Boris began wearing captain’s armband.
In 12 January 2010, Galchev sealed a three-and-a-half-year deal with CSKA Sofia. The footballer was given the number 18 shirt. On 27 March 2010, Boris debuted in the Eternal Derby versus Levski Sofia after being fielded in the 2nd half of the match. He was an established part of CSKA midfield. Galchev amassed 1 goal in 60 fixtures for the Reds during his spell.
On 13 July 2012, Boris penned a 2-year contract with Dinamo București. In early 2013, he returned to Bulgaria and signed with Botev Plovdiv.
In March 2011, Galchev received the first call-up from the Bulgaria national squad for the UEFA Euro 2012 qualifier versus Switzerland and the friendly encounter against Cyprus, but didn’t appear on the pitch. His senior national debut came on 29 May 2012 in a 0-2 defeat to Turkey.
