Branimir Hrgota is a Swedish footballer of Croatian origin, born on 12 January 1993. He is capable of playing at both the right wing and centre forward positions.
Branimir started playing football at the IK Tord youth system in a Swedish city Jonkoping. In 2008 he joined Superettan side Jonkopings Sodra IF youth team, where in 2011 was promoted to the main squad. He spent a fruitful season there, firing 28 goals in 39 appearances, which drew the attention of various German clubs. In June 2012 the footballer signed a four-year contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach, running until June 2016. The transfer, indeed, came off a bit later due to some technical problems. Branimir hasn’t made a single appearance for the club yet.
Hrgota has so far been capped for the Swedish U-18 and U-19 national football teams. He managed to take part in 5 matches of the U-18 team and score 3 goals in 8 appearances for the U-19 team. This allows Branimir to receive regular calls-up to the national team and have a promising future for the following steps.
Many people compare the footballer to Zlatan Ibrahimović due to his excellent dribbling skills and goal-scoring flair, which Branimir demonstrated at his club.
