Brian Vandenbussche is a goalkeeper of Heerenveen. He was born on 24 September 1981 in Blankenberge, Belgium.
Brian’s career took off in Club Brugge, where he drew the attention of Dutch side Sparta. The footballer’s professional début came on 30 March 2002 in the away 3-0 loss to Roda. Vandenbussche spent two seasons and a half in the Rotterdam club and made 14 appearances.
In the summer 2004, the player sealed a deal with Heerenveen and became a second-choice keeper of the club. However, after Boy Waterman was injured, Brian took a regular place between the posts and did his best in order not to lose it. The footballer made his first appearance for the new club on 18 September 2004 in the home 3-0 victory over NAC Breda. On 13 February 2010, Vandenbussche got a knee trauma, which kept him out of action for some time. During pre-season training, the player was injured again and sentenced to seven months without football. Despite that fact, the management of Heerenveen offered Brian a two-year extension, and he repaid by showing stellar performance during the rest of the 2010/2011 season. Vandenbussche took part in 173 matches for the club during seven years.
