Bruno Grougi is a halfback of Stade Brestois. The French footballer was born on 26 April 1983 in Caen.
Bruno’s first professional contract came in 2001, when he attracted the spying eyes of the scouts from Caen. He remained at the club as a member of the reserves until 2006, but during this period he was loaned to Cherbourg.
In the summer 2004, Grougi was still not a first team regular for Caen, so he was sent on loan, where he would get some useful match experience. Over the course of the 2004/2005 season, the head coach gave him a few chances to reveal his potential on the field. As a rule, he appeared as a sub and only in rare instances was he let to perform as a starter.
After the spell came to an end, the Frenchman was welcomed back to his parent club, where he remained until the next move to Clermont Foot.
The Clermont offered the player a tempting contract with a place in the first eleven. It fitted Bruno perfectly, so he signed the deal in 2006. The move followed and he didn’t disappoint, taking his role with great success. In his first season for a new club, he was quick to establish himself as a first team’s member, after taking part in a round of the championship. In total, Bruno amassed 19 matches in 101 games for Clermont. After such a bright performance, he got lots of offers from different French clubs.
In the summer 2009 he agreed to join Brest, where he remained until 2011, having played 26 matches and scoring 8 goals. But in the summer 2011, the club took a more experienced halfback, that’s why Bruno lost his place in the starting line-up. He continues to perform for the French side as a sub.
