César Delgado is an Argentine winger. He was born on 18 August 1981 in Rosario, Argentina. Delgado began playing professionally with Rosario Central. From 2001 to 2003 he took part in 65 matches and found the net 14 times.
During the next five years César defended the colours of Mexican club Cruz Azul where he scored 61 goals in 151 matches. He was named the Best foreign player in Mexican football. In January 2008 Delgado was purchased by Lyon for a fee of €6.3 million. The winger won the Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France with his new club.
In 2011 Delgado returned to Mexico where he completed a deal with Monterrey.
In 2003 César Delgado gained his first cap for the Argentina national squad. The footballer was part of the gold medal winning team at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. All in all, Delgado notched 2 goals in 20 matches for the national team.
