César Sánchez is a former footballer from Spain. He was born in 1971 and graduated from the youth system of Real Valladolid. He began to play for the reserves and made his first team debut in 1991/92, which was a 0-6 loss to Barcelona. Until 2000 he hardly missed a league game and in 2000/01 Sánchez switched to Real Madrid. Initially he was the second-choice keeper and replaced Iker Casillas, he played for them until 2005.
Between 2005 and 2008 Sánchez played for Zaragoza but after the team faced relegation in 2007/08 he was sent to the reserve team, so he left Zaragoza for Tottenham. He spent half a season with Tottenham Hotspur and made only one appearance.
In January 2009 Sánchez joined Valencia CF and helped them to finish the season third. The following season they were third again and in June 2011 the goal keeper left for Villarreal CF. He retired in 2012 when he was over 40 years old.
