Charlie Adam is a midfielder of Liverpool F.C. He was born on 10 December 1985 in Dundee, Scotland.
Charlie began his career in the local club Dundee academy. Adam played for the youth team for five years and took part in the youth championship matches. Besides, Adam was very good at training in the youth system.
In 2004 Charlie was offered to sign his first professional contract with one of the best Scottish teams Rangers. He accepted the offer the same year and went on loan to First Division team Ross County, where Adam made only 11 appearances and scored two goals in 2004/2005.
In the following 2005/2006 season, Charlie was sent on loan again, this time to St. Mirren F.C. He took an active part in the matches of the new temporary team, playing 29 games and netting five goals.
After returning from loan to his parent Rangers in 2006, Adam stayed with the club, because the head coach began to let him on the pitch more often and gave him more starts in the first team. During two years and a half till January 2009, Charlie Adam made 61 appearances for Rangers and went on to net 13 times.
In January 2009 the footballer was sent on loan to English side Blackpool, where Charlie played for the rest of the season, having taken part in 13 matches for the temporary club and contributed three goals. After the end of the loan spell, Blackpool management decided to keep Adam and make him a regular by buying the footballer out from Rangers. From 2009 Charlie amassed 28 goals in 78 games and became one of the team’s pivots.
In 2011 English side Liverpool signed a long-term contract with Adam and paid about £7 million to Blackpool. In 2011/2012 Charlie took part in 28 matches of the club and found the net two times.
From 2006 till 2007 Adam was capped for the Scotland national U-21 team and Scotland B and made three appearances in each squad. From 2007 Charlie has been invited for 16 matches of the senior Scotland team and netted one goal.
