Christian Fuchs is a left back of German side Schalke 04 and the Austria national team. He was born in Neunkirchen, Austria.
Fuchs is a product of the SVg Pitten and Wiener Neustädter SC academies. Christian began his professional career in 2003/2004 in SV Mattersburg, where he made 140 appearances, scored 12 goals and twice went through to the ÖFB-Cup finals till 2008. In the beginning of the summer 2008 he moved to German side VfL Bochum.
In June 2011 Fuchs transferred to Schalke 04 after spending the 2010/2011 season on loan at FSV Mainz 05.
He signed a contract with the Gelsenkirchen club till 2015 and made his first Bundesliga appearance for ‘The Miners’ on 6 August 2011 in a 0-3 loss to Stuttgart.
Christian was capped many times for the national team at different youth levels before he received a call-up to the senior squad. His full team début came on 23 May 2006 in the friendly against Croatia. He also featured in Euro 2008 match against the Germany national squad.
