Christian Pouga was born on 19 June 1986 in Douala, Cameroon.
Christian is a product of Avenir Douala’s amateur club. In 2001, when 15, Pouga joined the academy of the most successful Chinese club Dalian Shide.
In 2004 the young striker penned a professional contract with Shanghai United FC where he made 40 outings with 21 goals for two years. Then Pouga continued his football career in Switzerland, where he spent two most unsuccessful years with FC Zürich and FC Aarau delivering only 2 goals in 19 appearances in total.
In 2007 Christian transferred to the Swiss 2nd division side AC Bellinzona. In his 1st season, Pouga helped his team gain promotion to the Swiss top division by netting 18 goals in 32 matches.
In June 2008, the player was acquired by Sevilla FC for an undisclosed fee. During one season he earned 17 appearances and scored 11 goals. In July 2009, Christian went on a season-long loan to Leixões SC. The striker performed well, showing an outstanding play with 14 goals in 29 games.
In August 2010, Pouga agreed to a three-year contract with the Romanian club FC Vaslui. However, only a season later he moved to FC Maritimo. And in August 2012, Christian became part of Oud-Heverlee Leuven. After a loan spell with Lierse, Pouga joined Ankaraspor in the summer 2013. However, two months later he left the club.
