Christian Poulsen is a football player from Denmark. He was born in the town of Asnæs, Denmark and started practicing football in the local team Asnæs BK. When he was 15 the amateur club Holbæk invited Poulsen to join the side. After spending 3 seasons in the team, the player was scouted by F.C. Copenhagen where stayed for three seasons, playing in 45 matches and finding the target 10 times.
In 2002 Paulsen moved to Schalke 04 where he quickly secured a spot in the central midfield. He made 111 appearances in the club and scored 3 times before joining Sevilla. The spell in the Spanish side was one of the most successful in his career, when the club claimed the UEFA Cup and the Spanish Cup and the player appeared in 62 matches.
In 2008 Poulsen was signed by Juventus and stayed in the Italian side for two seasons. After short stints in Liverpool and Evian, Paulsen penned a deal with Ajax.
Poulsen is the first player that was awarded “Player of the Year in Denmark” title two times in a row.
