Claudio Pizarro was born in a Peruvian town of Callao on 3 October 1978. He is a Bayern Munich and the Peru national team striker.
Claudio started playing pro football at Deportivo Pesquero. Then he joined Alianza Lima, performing there successfully for two seasons. In 1999 Pizarro was shipped to Werder Bremen, where he drew the attention of such giants as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund. But on 7 June 2001 the footballer made his big move to Bayern Munich. Successful displays in Bayern helped the player catch the eye of Chelsea. After a successful second run with Werder Bremen, Claudio returned to his beloved Bayern Munich in the summer of 2012.
He was capped for the Peruvian National team to play in the Copa América in 2004 and 2007.
Pizzaro won a great number of trophies with Bayern Munich including German championship (2003, 2005 and 2006), the German Cup (2003, 2004 and 2006), Intercontinental Cup 2001 and DFB League Cup 2004. He also won the DFB Cup 2009 with Bremen.
Claudio is known as all-time top non-German scorer in the Bundesliga with 157 goals. He is named as 2009/10 UEFA Europa League top scorer.
