Clint Dempsey is a midfielder of Seattle Sounders. He was born on 9 March 1983 in Nacogdoches, United States.
Clint’s youth career took off in 1998, when he became a trainee of the Dallas Texans academy. The footballer spent three years there, performing for the youth team of the club and perfecting his skills. Dempsey managed to make a positive display and proved to be very capable, which really helped him in future as different academies of the USA wanted to see the talented footballer in their ranks. In 2001 he left Dallas Texans and transferred to the Furman Paladins youth system. It took Clint two years to gain sufficient playing experience and to get ready to become a pro.
In 2004 Dempsey signed a professional contract with New England Revolution and moved to the first team of the club, getting in the starting line-up for almost all games. The successful start did a lot of good to the young American footballer as he showed stellar performance, netting 25 goals in 71 matches during three years.
In the summer 2007, Clint ended his US career by signing for Fulham, where he plays up till now. The midfielder is the anchor player of midfield from the very arrival at the club. He amassed 50 goals in 184 games of ‘The Cottagers’.
Dempsey played for Tottenham Hotspur in the season 2012/2013 and in August 2013 returned to the USA joining Seattle Sounders.
In the winter 2013/2014 Dempsey was loaned to his former side Fulham for two months.
From 2004 Clint Dempsey has made over 100 appearances and netted 36 goals for the USA national team.
