David Navarro Pedro is a Spanish central defender playing for Levante UD.
He started his career at the Valencia youth system. David became a main squad player in 2001 but for 9 years spent in the club he still didn’t manage to win a firm place in the starting eleven being mostly used as a substitute.
After the end of the season 2006/07 Navarro was sent on loan to Mallorca. Being used mainly as a substitute there either he returned to Valencia but then was again loaned to the club from the Balearic Isles. For two seasons there he made 48 appearances. The season 2009/10 was arguably the most successful in the player’s career. David was set the club’s captain and having spent 19 games he helped his side qualify for the Champions League from the third place. For all the time he spent in Valencia David took the field in 97 matches and scored 7 times.
After that in 2011 Navarro left for Switzerland. He signed a 2+1 year contract with the club Neuchâtel Xamax but within a year he was released from his contract due to the club’s liquidation. Then in the beginning of 2012 he signed for Levante and spent 4 games for half of the year there.
David Navarro Pedro was involved in an outrageous incident on the football pitch. On March 6, 2007 Valencia played against Inter Milan in the 1/8 finals. At the end of the match a row between the players of the two teams burst out. Other footballers tried to stop the conflict Navarro broke in as well. He ran onto the field trying to protect his club mate from Nicolas Burdisso and eventually broke his nose and ran away being chased by the other players of Inter Milan. However that wasn’t the end of the problem as both clubs got fined for €205.000 and the footballers who participated in that fight received different periods of disqualification. Navarro himself was deprived of football for 7 months in all the tournaments.
