David Odonkor is a German winger who plays for Hoverla Uzhhorod. He was born on 21 February 1984 in Bünde, West Germany.
David began his junior career at JSG Holsen-Ahle in 1991, later moving to Bünder SV. In 1998 Odonkor joined Borussia Dortmund. In 2001 he signed a professional deal with the club and was inserted into the reserve team. From 2001 to 2005 Odonkor made 49 appearances and netted 7 goals for Borussia Dortmund II. In 2002 David was promoted to the first team, where he featured in 75 matches during his 2002-2006 spell at the club.
In 2006 Odonkor completed a move to Real Betis. From 2006 to 2011 he participated in 51 games and netted 2 goals for the Spanish side. In 2011 the footballer signed a contract with Alemannia Aachen, where he made 23 outings and scored 2 goals. In 2012 the German footballer joined Hoverla Uzhhorod.
From 2004 to 2007 Odonkor was regularly called up to the Germany U21 squad. On 30 May 2006 Odonkor made his senior debut for Germany in the friendly game against Japan. He was later called up to the national team for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, where he made 4 appearances.
