David Pizarro is a midfielder of Roma playing on loan in Manchester City. He was born on 11 September 1979 in Valparaíso, Chile.
He began his professional career in 1997, signing his first contract with Santiago Wanderers. David performed for his first club till 1998, making 41 appearances and scoring five goals.
In 1999 Pizarro moved to the Italian side Udinese that played in the Serie A. At the beginning David started to play as a regular, but he was not a key player, because he didn’t possess sufficient performing experience and playing practice. In 2001 the footballer was sent on loan to Universidad de Chile, the club that represented his native country. After returning to Udinese, David started to actively participate in the matches, taking part in 117 games and netting 18 goals till 2005.
In 2005 Pizarro accepted the offer of Internazionale that played in the Serie A as well. The club paid €10 million and signed a four-year contract. During all contract spell, he played 24 games and kicked two goals for the new club.
In 2006 David moved to Roma, another Italian team. The club paid €6.5 million for the player and signed a long-term contract. From 2006 David has become a very important part of the team, having made 142 appearances and contributed 14 goals before going on loan.
In 2012 the English side Manchester City signed the Chilean midfielder on loan. David has played five games and made a goal for the temporary club.
From 1999 till 2005 David Pizarro took part in 36 matches of the Chile national football team and scored three goals.
