Denis Cheryshev is a football player, born in 1990. His father is a retired footballer, who played for Sporting Gijón and there Denis began to play at the youth system. Then he moved to the academy of Burgos CF and in 2002 he joined the academy of Real Madrid. He graduated from there and began to play for the reserve team in 2008/09. He helped Real Madrid B team to win promotion to Segunda División in 2011/12.
His first team debut came on 27 November 2012, when he appeared in Copa del Rey match against CD Alcoyano, ended in a 3-0 victory.
The Russian’s performance drew attention of Carlo Ancelotti and he let him on the pitch several times during the summer 2013. However, he was then loaned to Sevilla for the season 2013/2014. In the summer 2014 Cheryshev was loaned to Villarreal.
Since 2005 Cheryshev has represented the Russian national team at different levels. He earned his first cap for the senior team on 6 November 2012 in a friendly against the USA, a 2-2 draw.
