Dmitri Loskov was born on February 12, 1974 in Kurgan, Soviet Union.
Dmitri began playing football in the youth sport school of his native town but in 1990 moved to Rostov-on-Don and started his senior football career by signing for Rostselmash in 1991. In 1992, he already made his debut for the main team whereupon got a regular starting spot becoming a key player of the club for the following 4 years. These were his midfielder’s talents due to which there were well-balanced links maintained between the defense and forward lines of the squad. Altogether during the 4 seasons with Rostselmash Loskov appeared 115 times and scored 25 goals.
In 1997, the footballer signed an agreement with FC Lokomotiv Moscow, the club he would attain the greatest success at. In his very first season with the team he featured in the starting line-up rather frequently though still fell short of getting a regular starting spot. But having already scored the goal to become an integral part of the first side and training very hard Dmitri did his best to achieve the aim and finally managed to become one of the best players the club had ever had. Since 1997 till 2007 Dmitri appeared in 278 games and netted 95 goals being considered one of the pillars of the team.
In 2007, Dmitri being in not as good shape as before and clearly understanding that his age was already far from being called young, still wanted to have game practice and thereby decided to change his place of employment choosing FC Saturn Ramenskoye as a proper place to keep his career going. The club from Moscow region lacked such an experienced player and Loskov fit in rather well but still never became a figure of such significance for the club he had been in Lokomotiv. During his three seasons, spent in Saturn, the midfielder featured in 53 games and scored 7 goals.
In 2010, the management of Lokomotiv Moscow conceived a pressing need to consolidate their team’s performance by inviting several veteran footballers alongside with the young talents. Dmitri Loskov was a real legend of the club and without thinking twice the Lokomotiv managers signed the midfielder back.
In the summer 2013 Loskov retired from professional football.
As a national team footballer Dmitri Loskov appeared in his first international match in 2000 against Slovakia and his latest appearance for the Russia national squad took place in 2006 in the friendly with Latvia.
