Douglão is a defender, born on 15 August 1986 in Dois Vizinhos, Brazil.
In 2005 the footballer began playing professionally with Coritiba where he spent half a year. During this period Douglão made only 5 appearances. He wasn’t given a chance to show his worth.
In 2007 Douglão signed a permanent contract with Internacional. Despite all the efforts of the young defender to become the key player the head coach couldn’t include the Brazilian in the starting XI that’s why Douglão didn’t play a single game for Internacional.
In 2008 the footballer penned an agreement with FC Nantes which gave him a chance to rehabilitate himself for the years spent on the bench. After moving to France, Douglão continued his career in professional football on a new level which was considerably higher. During the season the defender took part only in 4 matches for the French side.
In the summer 2009 Douglão signed for the Greek club AO Kavala. During his two-year spell he enjoyed confidence of the head coach who gave Douglão the opportunity to come on the pitch in 48 games. Moreover, during two seasons the footballer scored twice for Kavala.
In the summer 2011 Douglão changed his club moving to the Portuguese outfit Braga where he made solid performances from the beginning of the 2011/2012 season. Braga finished this season third in the Portugal Primeira Liga and qualified for the UEFA Champions League.
In 2013 the Brazilian was loaned to Qatar SC. In 2014 he moved to Akhisarspor.
