Egidio Raúl Arévalo Ríos was born in 1982 in Uruguay. He graduated from the academy of Paysandú Bella Vista and then was promoted to the first team for the 2000/01 season. Then he played for Bella Vista and Peñarol and in 2007 he moved to Mexico for a season, where he played for Monterrey. After that he returned to Uruguay and had a short spell at Danubio. In 2009 he had a stint at Mexican team San Luis, then returned to Peñarol. After that Egidio Arévalo had spells at Botafogo and Tijuana, in Brazil and Mexico respectively.
In the summer of 2012 Arévalo moved to Europe where he joined the Italian outfit Palermo. One year later he moved to Chicago and joined Chicago Fire.
He was a part of the Uruguay Olympic team and since 2006 he’s been called up to play for the Uruguay national team.
