Emir Spahić is a Bosnian defender for Bayer Leverkusen.
Over his fruitful career the Bosnian has played for such clubs as Celik Zenica, GOSK Dubrovnik, NK Zagreb, Shinnik Yaroslavl, Torpedo Moscow, Lokomotiv Moscow, Montpellier, Sevilla and Anzhi Makhachkala. In 2013 the Bosnian completed a transfer to the German side Bayer Leverkusen.
He scored his first goal for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team on February 28, 2006 against Japan in the match that finished in a draw 2-2.
Emir comes from a sports family. His younger brother also tries to achieve success with Bosnian Željezničar. His distant cousin is Mirsad Türkcan – a famous former basketball player for Dynamo Moscow and CSKA Moscow.
