Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu is a defensive midfielder for Udinese. He was born on 2 February 1990 in Berekum, Ghana.
Emmanuel’s professional career started in 2007 after he was promoted to his alma mater Berekum Arsenal first team. Since his debut season at the home club Badu played regularly but didn’t become a key player due to the rotation system. During the 2007/08 season Emmanuel made 19 appearances and scored 7 goals.
In July 2008 the Ghanaian midfielder signed for Asante Kotoko. The 2008/09 season wasn’t exactly successful for Emmanuel as he didn’t become a regular. Despite that though Emmanuel played 18 matches and scored 2 goals.
In 2009 Emmanuel was acquired by Berlin FC but didn’t play any matches for the club and was eventually loaned to Spanish Recreativo de Huelva, where the story with idle season repeated.
In 2010 Italian Serie A side Udinese announced that they signed Emmanuel Badu on a long-term contract. Since 2010 Badu regularly features in the starting lineup with a total of 23 appearances so far.
Emmanuel Badu is a holder of African Youth Championship Gold Medal, Africa Cup of Nations Silver Medal and FIFA U-20 World Cup Champion.
Since 2008 Badu has been called up to represent Ghana with a total of 31 caps and 4 goals.
