Erik Heijblok is a goalkeeper of AZ. He was born on 29 June 1977 in Den Oever, Netherlands.
Erik’s career took off in the youth team of HVV Hollandia, but his first professional contract was signed with Dutch side Haarlem in 2003. The footballer’s début came in August 2003 in the match against BVV Den Bosch. Heijblok made 126 appearances during four seasons for the club.
In the spring 2007, there were rumours Amsterdam side Ajax was looking for a reserve goalkeeper. Erik was the lucky one to pen a contract with ‘De Godenzonen’ till 2008. The footballer took part only in one game for Ajax as he was a third-choice goalkeeper of the team.
After the end of his spell, Heijblok signed for De Graafschap on a free transfer and made his début for the new club on 30 August 2008 in the match against NEC. The keeper featured in 34 matches and conceded 58 goals during the 2008/2009 season.
In June 2009, the footballer sealed a two-year deal with AZ and took the place of a third-choice goalkeeper, which meant he would later take part only in one game during the 2009/2010 season.
