Éver Maximiliano David Banega started his career at Boca Juniors. He managed to scratch his way through to the starting squad only after the main central midfielder Fernando Gago left for Real Madrid. He made his first start in a winning game against Atlético Banfield paving his way to professional future. Banega managed to become an integral part of the team regardless of his young age. The football he used to deliver drew attention of the scouts from such giants as Juventus, Milan and Barcelona.
Valencia turned out to be the most persistent and willing to purchase the midfielder so eventually they shook hands over a 5.5-year deal. A week after signing he made his first appearance for the Spanish side against Atlético Madrid. His first season in Spain ended in obtaining a trophy of Copa del Rey. Banega appeared on the pitch 12 times during that season.
The club couldn’t give Ever enough playing time so he went on loan to Atlético for the season 2008/09. Then he spent several seasons in Valencia but those couldn’t be called remarkable. In 2012 he got a hard injury that kicked him out of the game for half a year. In 2014 Banega was loaned to Newell’s Old Boys.
As for his international career the only match for his national team was a friendly one against Guatemala that the Argentinian squad won 5-0.
