Fabián Ariel Orellana Valenzuela, known as El Poeta (the poet) is a professional Chilean footballer currently playing as a striker for Celta de Vigo. He was born on January 27, 1986 in Santiago, Chile.
At first Fabián Orellana trained at the academy of Colo-Colo and then moved to Audax Italiano, where he learned to play football from 2000 till 2004.
In 2005 the young footballer joined the senior squad of Audax Italiano, playing in the Chilean Primera División. Over 5 seasons the striker appeared in 117 matches of the side and scored 27 goals; he also became the vice-champion of Chile in the 2006 Clausura.
In 2009 Fabián Orellana moved to Europe to play for Udinese Calcio (Italy). The footballer went on loan to Xerez CD in 2009 and to Granada CF in 2010. In 2011 he signed for the latter and stayed there till 2013. In 2011 the striker played on loan for Celta de Vigo.
In 2013 Fabián Orellana signed a contract with Celta de Vigo.
As for his international career, Fabián Orellana was capped for the Chile national football team in 2007.
