Fábio da Silva is a full-back, born on 9 July 1990 in Petrópolis, Brazil.
He began his youth career joining the Fluminense academy. The young Brazilian entered the academy when he was a teenager and the management included him in the youth team. He also had been trained there during three years till 2008, and became one of the best trainees. Fábio attracted the attention of Manchester United scouts that were looking for a young back. After a demonstration match, da Silva was offered to become a part of the ‘Red Devils’. Fábio had just turned 18 and he signed a professional contract with one of the best clubs in the world.
From 2008 da Silva played for Manchester United. He was not a regular, but the club manager often let the young Brazilian on the field. From 2008 he took part in 56 matches for the club and scored three goals.
In 2012 he was sent on loan to Queens Park Rangers.
In January 2014 Fabio moved to Cardiff City.
In 2007 Fábio was capped 13 times for the Brazil national U17 team and netted ten goals. In 2011 da Silva was invited to play for the senior national team and made two appearances.
