Francesco Modesto is a left winger for Padova. He was born on 16 February 1982 in Crotone, Italy.
Francesco’s professional career started in 1999 at his alma mater Cosenza. During 2 seasons Francesco featured in 30 matches for Cosenza, until being sent out on loan to Vibonese in 2001, where he totaled 18 appearances.
In 2002 Francesco signed for Palermo on a year and a half contract totaling 13 appearances. In January 2004 Modesto was signed by Ascoli on a permanent basis. By 2005 Francesco had 60 appearances and 3 goals for Ascoli. From 2005 to 2008 Francesco played for Reggina with a totaling impressive 104 appearances and 4 goals. In 2008 Modesto joined Genoa on a 2-year contract. During that time the Italian winger appeared in only 26 matches.
In the summer of 2010 Francesco was loaned to Bologna. At the new club Modesto was a substitute, with 13 appearances during half of the 2010/11 season. In January 2011 Modesto signed for his current Parma on a permanent contract. I Crociati coaching staff made Francesco a regular starter and a key winger in the first squad. In 2012 though he was loaned to struggling Pescara.
Since 2013 Modesto has represented a Serie B side Padova.
