Ribéry's career began in Boulogne in 2001. At that time the club played in Ligue 2. The following season Franck spent with Olympique Alès. In 2003/2004 the winger played for Brest, and at the end of 2004 he transferred to FC Metz. In January 2005 Franck was invited to a Turkish side Galatasaray, where he turned into a real professional and contributed to the club’s claiming the Turkish Cup title. The footballer, indeed, had to leave Galatasaray as the club was not paying his salary. Being a free agent, Franck joined Olympique de Marseille and stayed there from 2005 to 2007.
The player represented the France national squad that reached the final in the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
In July 2007 the Frenchman made his big move to Bayern Munich. Franck established himself as a confident player and an indispensable midfielder with great assists.
