Franco Baresi is a former Italian defender and coach born on 8 May 1960 in Travagliato, Italy.
Baresi spent his entire career, both playing and coaching, at Italian AC Milan. Having finished their youth academy, he joined the first team of the club in 1977 and played there for 20 years. For that time he collected six Serie A titles, four Italian Super Cups, three Champions League titles and three European Super Cups. Overall, he made a total of 532 league appearances in Milan shirt. In between 1982 and 1994, Baresi was awarded 82 caps to the Italy national team and was part of the squad who won the FIFA World Cup in 1982.
In between 2002 and 2008, Baresi coached the youth teams of AC Milan.
