Frank James Lampard (born 20 June 1978 in Romford, England) is considered to be one of the most skilled midfielders in modern football and is Chelsea's top scorer ever.
Frank Lampard was born to a family of football players: his father was playing for the England national team as a midfielder and twice won the FA Cup; his uncle was the manager of Tottenham Hotspur.
In July 1994 Lampard began his career by joining West Ham United and signing his first professional contract in 1995. Later on that year he had a spell at Swansea City football club on loan, played 9 matches and scored his first career goal. Then he got back to West Ham and was warming the bench for the rest of the season.
2001 was a new benchmark in Lampard’s career as he moved to another London side, Chelsea. By the end of 2005 Frank James Lampard established a record of 164 consecutive games for one club and became one of the top ten Chelsea’s goalscorers ever. In 2005/06 Frank set a Premier League record for a midfielder to score and in 2006/07 he was chosen the Player of the Year according to British journalists.
On 17 January 2009 Lampard made his 400th appearance for Chelsea in the match against Stoke City. Only nine people had shown the same result before him.
From 2001 to 2014 Lampard made 648 appearances for Chelsea and scored 211 goals.
In the summer 2014 he left London and joined a new MLS side New York City.
