Gabriel Andrei Torje is a footballer of Udinese. The player was born on November 22, 1989 in a Romanian city of Timişoara.
Torje’s career started in 2005 when he signed his first in life professional contract with a local club named also Timişoara. During his debut season (2005/06) the Romanian played 8 matches with one goal scored.
Soon Torje signed an agreement with Politehnica Timişoara. Gabriel didn’t manage to win a permanent place in the starting eleven though appeared quite frequently from the beginning of a match despite the lack of practice. Since 2006 till 2008 the striker played in 37 games for the club but scored only twice.
In 2008 Torje was offered a contract with Dinamo Bucureşti which became one of the most prolific stages of Gabriel’s career. Soon he put his signature under an official agreement with the club. The player appeared in every single game of his debut season for Dinamo Bucureşti and went on to perform well in the two following ones. In total since 2008 till 2011 Torje played 108 games for Dinamo Bucureşti scoring 17 times.
Gabriel moved to Italy in 2011 signing an agreement with the Serie A side Udinese. Though he wasn’t included in the starting line-up regularly. That is why he was sent on loan to Granada. Later on he had a spell with Espanyol.
Torje played in 5 games for the Romanian U-17 squad. From 2006 till 2010 he was involved in 24 games for the U-21 squad where he scored 9 goals. Since 2010 he represents the senior team.
