Georgi Peev was born on 11 March 1979 in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.
He started to play football at the age of 12, when he joined the youth academy of the FC Lokomotiv Sofia and in 1997 he signed his first professional contract with the club and made his debut appearance in August 1998, playing as a substitute.
In 2000 the player completed a $2.5 million move to Dynamo Kyiv and stayed threr until 2007 except his 2005/06 loan-spell spent at FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. In 2007 FC Amkar got interested in the midfielder and decided to land him on a permanent basis. So, Peev moved to the Perm club for $450 thousand.
The player first featured with his new club in the cup fixture versus FC Moscow. During the season, Georgi missed the Round 18 clash against FC Zenit due to disqualification and netted his first goal in a game against FC Krylia Sovetov. Altogether Georgi made 29 appearances, scored two goals and made 6 assists in 2007/08.
He bettered his statistics during the next season, making 30 starts and scoring on four occasions. Even during the disastrous 2010 when the team had really hard times in the league, the player managed to bring points to the team and became the second best passer of the competition. During the 2012/13 season Peev signed the new contract with the club.
The player made his debut for the Bulgaria national team in 1999 and finished his official international career in 2011.
