Gianluca Curci is an Italian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Bologna on loan from Roma. He was born on 12 July 1985 in Rome, Italy.
Gianluca’s professional career as a goalkeeper started with the native Roma youth system, where he was taught for many years. From the year 2004 he became the club’s second choice goalkeeper and got a chance to make 29 appearances for the club.
In 2008 Gianluca Curci wanted to change the club to play as a first choice goalkeeper. Siena FC was the club that could offer that opportunity. Gianluca accepted Siena’s offer and signed a contract linking him with the club till 2010. During the following two seasons Curci constantly made the starting lineup and played 68 games for the club.
In 2010 Gianluca moved to Italian Sampdoria, where he played for 1 year and appeared in 26 club’s games. In 2011 he returned to the native club Roma and currently plays with the club. Curci is a second-choice goalkeeper and played only one match in 2011/12 season.
In 2012/2013 season the goalkeeper was loaned to Bologna.
From 2003 to 2007 Gianluca Curci played 27 matches for the Italian U-19, Italian U-20 and Italian U-21 teams.
