Glen Johnson is a back of Liverpool. He was born on 23 August 1984 in one of London suburbs.
Johnson’s professional career took off in 2002, when he signed a contract with West Ham United after being its trainee. Glen made only 15 appearances during the first half of 2002/2003 and spent the second half on loan in Millwall.
In 2003 Chelsea F.C. bought the English back for £6 million and he signed a contract with the club till 2007. During all three years Glen played for ‘The Blues’, took part in 41 matches and netted three goals.
In 2006/2007 season Johnson went on loan to Portsmouth, where he made 26 appearances, but did not score.
After that season Portsmouth decided to buy the player from Chelsea as they liked his performance. The transfer fee was £6 million and the footballer signed a four-year contract. From 2007 till 2009 Glen was the pivot of the club, took part in 58 games and found the net four times.
In 2009 English side Liverpool took an interest in the player and had to pay £17.5 for a long-term contract with Glen, whose high level of skill raised his cost many times. Nowadays Johnson is the key defender and he continues to successfully perform for Liverpool.
From 2003 till 2006 Glen took part in 14 matches of the England youth team. In 2003 he was invited to the Three Lions, made 40 appearances and went on to net one time.
