Gustavo Boccoli was born on 16 February 1978 in São Paulo, Brazil. Boccoli plays as a midfielder.
In 1999 Gustavo began playing professionally with Italian side Brescia where he spent one season. In 2000 the footballer returned to Brazil to play for Paraná Clube. In 2001 Boccoli was invited to Hapoel Ramat Gan. From 2002 to 2004 he also featured for Hakoah Ramat Gan and Maccabi Ahi Nazareth.
In 2004 the footballer changed his club moving to Israeli club Maccabi Haifa. In the very first season Boccoli won the Premier League title together with his club. The midfielder quickly established himself within the squad and justified the coach’s confidence completely. In the following seasons Maccabi Haifa won the Premier League title three more times and won the Toto Cup twice. In the 2005/2006 campaign Boccoli was voted “the footballer of the year” among the Premier League players, because he scored 12 goals, assisted 9 goals and helped his club to win the third championship in a row.
