Halil Altintop was born on 8 December 1982 in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Halil has Turkish citizenship and plays for the Turkey national football team. He can be used as a winger or as a forward.
In 2000 Altintop started his football career in Wattenscheid 09. During three seasons in one of the lowest German divisions Halil scored 35 goals in 81 appearances and proved himself as an excellent forward. In 2003 he sealed a long-term deal with Kaiserslautern. The footballer continued to make progress, and in 2006 he grabbed the attention of a strong and ambitious club Schalke 04. In the course of time Halil scored fewer goals and consequently began gaining less playing time. In 2010 he moved to Eintracht Frankfurt, and a year later he joined Turkish side Trabzonspor.
Since 2004 Halil Altintop has been a regular for the Turkey national team.
