Hrvoje Čale is a Croatian international footballer born on 4 March 1985 in Zagreb.
Hrvoje made his senior debut for GNK Dinamo Zagreb in 2003 and played 5 games for a Croatian top-club during the first season. In the 2004/05 season he was loaned to Dinamo’s archrival NK Inter Zaprešić where he was part of the reserve squad and had only 13 appearances in two seasons. On return, Čale began to play as a left-back which led him to becoming a regular in the first team as the position wasn’t so competitive. Thus, in the next 3 seasons he played more than 60 games scoring 3 goals for Dinamo Zagreb. Later on Turkish Trabzonspor got interested in Croatian footballer and signed a player in a short time. During a three-year spell for the Black Sea Storm, Hrvoje made 79 appearances scoring, however, only one goal, though it counts for little when playing in defence.
In 2011 Čale joined a top-flight German club VfL Wolfsburg where he played until 2013.
His following club was Waasland-Beveren from Belgium.
Despite his modest progress in club career Hrvoje Čale is integral to success at the national level. He featured for every youth level from U-15 to U-21 with Croatian national team, having about 60 appearances in total, and then made his senior international debut in a match against Romania on 11 February 2009.
