Iker Muniain Goñi is a left winger playing for Athletic Bilbao and the Spanish national team.
Muniain is a Navarrese-born product of Athletic’s youth system. He made his debut and scored his first goal in July of 2009 against Young Boys when he was 16 thus becoming the youngest player to ever perform for the club. Two months later he became the youngest player to score in La Liga. He netted to Real Valladolid when he was 16 years and 289 days of age. Iker was proud to be one of those to score to Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League. That game was finished with Athletic’s 3-2 victory that saw them through to the quarterfinals.
Iker played in every youth national team of the Spaniards. He participated in the European Championship helping his team to qualify for the 2012 Summer Olympics. He also made 1 appearance for the senior national team in a 5-0 friendly against Venezuela replacing Cesc Fàbregas on the 74th minute of the game.
