Ionuţ Mazilu is a Romanian professional striker playing for Arsenal Kyiv FC. He was born on February 9, 1982 in Bucharest, Romania.
Having finished the academy of Sportul Studenţesc, Ionuţ Mazilu joined the senior squad of the club in 1999. From the very beginning the coach tried to give the promising footballer enough playing time to develop and improve his scoring skills. Gradually Ionuţ Mazilu became a key striker of Sportul Studenţesc and was always listed for the matches of the club. During his seven years with the club the striker featured in 182 matches and scored 80 goals for his club.
In 2006, Ionuţ Mazilu moved to one of the top Romanian clubs called Rapid Bucureşti FC and stayed there for two seasons. He made 34 appearances and scored 18 goals for the team.
In 2008, the striker signed up with a Ukrainian side Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk FC, but did not manage to get into the first team. In 2009, he was loaned to Arsenal Kyiv FC and in 2011 became a permanent player of the club.
In 2005, Ionuţ Mazilu was invited to play for the Romania National Football Team.
