Jack Wilshere was born on 1 January 1992 in Stevenage. At the age of 9, the footballer joined the Arsenal youth academy (in 2001). Wilshere is a talented attacking midfielder. He can also perform as a playmaker and winger.
The footballer quickly made progress and did not like to stay in youth teams of his age for long, trying to get to the older squads. He clinched a lot of titles and cups for his teams and even managed to represent some of them as a captain.
In the summer 2008 Jack Wilshere joined the first team. Arsène Wenger included him in the squad for a pre-season training and the footballer took part in several matches for the main team. Wilshere managed to score in the match against Stuttgart and made things lively for former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann. Jack also made his appearance in the Emirates Cup home matches against Real Madrid and Juventus.
The same year the footballer was included in ‘The Gunners’ squad for the 2008/2009 season and given the number 19 shirt. Jack’s Premier League debut came on 13 September in the match against Blackburn, when he made a sub appearance in the 84th minute of the game. On September 23, Wilshere went on to net for the first time, when kicked a goal in the Football League Cup match against Sheffield United. That season Jack took part in all tournaments Arsenal participated in.
From 2006 Jack was capped for the England national U-16 team. By the way, the Three Lions gave him an opportunity to play for the youth teams that were a year older than he was.
