Jason Roberts is a striker of Reading. He was born on 25 January 1978 in Park Royal, London, England.
In 1995 Hayes offered a contract to the talented striker. Jason had trained in one of English academies before that offer came and he passionately wished to begin his senior career. After getting at the absolutely new level of performance, Roberts made encouraging display in the club by scoring 16 goals in 50 matches, which drew the attention of different English teams from all divisions.
In 1997 Jason completed a move to Wolverhampton, where he spent only a couple of months before being sent on loan to Torquay United and netting four times in 14 games. The footballer had to spend some time with another temporary team, Bristol City, where he made three appearances and increased his goal tally by one. The other club from the same city, Bristol Rovers, expressed their wish to secure Roberts’s services and the striker penned a contract with the new team in 1998. He performed there during two seasons, which were very fruitful for Jason as he amassed 38 goals in 78 matches. In 2000 the footballer transferred to West Bromwich Albion, where he made fewer goals, but spent three years. The striker made 91 appearances and went on to net 25 times.
In 2003 Jason went on loan to Portsmouth, where he featured in ten games and banged in one goal. In 2004 Wigan Athletic landed the Grenadian striker and made him the pivot of the attack line. Roberts paid back for that wonderful opportunity by kicking 37 goals in 93 matches. In 2006 he ended his Wigan spell with Blackburn Rovers move and performed for the club till January 2012, having scored 24 goals in 134 games. In January 2012, Jason officially tied up a deal with Reading.
From 1998 till 2008, Roberts was capped ten times and contributed seven goals for the Grenada national team.
