Jay Bothroyd is a football player from England, born in 1982 in Islington. He played for the youth team of Arsenal and in 2000 left them for Coventry City. There he made his first league appearance in a 2-1 loss against Manchester United on 4 November 2000. In 2002/03 he was the team’s top scorer as he netted 11 goals.
In 2003 Bothroyd moved to Italy signing for Perugia, spent there a season and in August 2004 he was loaned to Blackburn Rovers. At the end of the summer in 2005 the footballer signed for Charlton Athletic, where he played for a season and then joined Wolverhampton Wanderers. There he wasn’t used regularly and in March 2008 was loaned to Stoke City, stayed there till the end of the season but made only 4 appearances.
On 4 August 2008 he penned a three-year deal with Cardiff City, playing in the Championship, and played for the team until the summer 2011. On 13 July 2013 Bothroyd penned a three-year deal with Queens Park Rangers. At the end of August 2012 he was sent to Sheffield Wednesday on loan and played there until January 2013.
Later on that year Bothroyd was released from QPR. In 2014 Bothroyd joined a Thai club Muangthong United.
Jay Bothroyd represented the England national youth teams and on 13 Navember 2010 he earned his first cap for the senior team in the match against France.
