Jean-Alain Fanchone is a left back for Udinese. He was born on 22 September 1988 in Mulhouse, France.
Jean-Alain’s youth career started in 2003 after he successfully performed in an exhibition match organized by RC Strasbourg. The club signed and included him in their youth system. Jean-Alain studied at the academy and played for Strasbourg youth squad for 5 years.
In 2008 Jean-Alain’s youth career came to an end as he joined Strasbourg senior squad and was made a regular. Fanchone’s debut 2008/09 season was a success as the head coach allowed him to start practically every match of the club. Thus, Jean-Alain got an opportunity to earn experience right after the youth career. From 2008 to 2010 Fanchone made 60 appearances and scored 2 goals for Strasbourg.
In 2010 the club management agreed to Arles-Avignon’s offer and loaned the defender for one season. During the 2010/11 season at The Lions, the French defender made a total of 21 appearances. Jean-Alain was loaned to Serie A Udinese for the 2011/12 season. During half a season at the Italian club, Fanchone made 13 appearances. The club management was impressed by Jean-Alain’s performance and decided to acquire and sign him on a permanent contract. Loan spells with Watford and Nimes followed.
From 2005 to 2006 Jean-Alain made 1 appearance for France U-18. From 2006 to 2007 Fanchone was capped 5 times for France U-19.
