Jermaine Jones is a German defensive midfielder of American origin (Jones’s father was an Afro-American soldier who moved to Germany and his mother was a German woman).
Jermaine was capped for ‘The DFB-Eleven’ at different levels, but he joined the USA national team in 2010. Jones was born in Frankfurt.
He played for Frankfurt side Eintracht for a long time and ended his spell there with Bayer Leverkusen move in 2004/2005. However, that period of Jones’s career was very unsuccessful, because the footballer made only five appearances for ‘The Lions’ so that is why he decided to return to Eintracht.
The 2005/2006 season was clouded by a serious leg injury, which kept him off the pitch for six months.
In 2007 Jones made another attempt to pull off outside Frankfurt and went to Gelsenkirchen after signing for Schalke 04. Jermaine’s cooperation with ‘The Miners’ turned out to be fruitful as he managed to establish himself in the first team.
In 2011 he was sent on loan to English side Blackburn Rovers, made 15 appearances for the temporary team and went back to Schalke after the end of the season.
In 2014 Jermaine completed a transfer to a Turkish side Besiktas.
