Jesús Gámez Duarte is a Spanish footballer who plays for Málaga where he enjoys a position of a central and right defender.
He started playing football at Fuengirola at the age of 4. As a youngster he played for that club since 1997 until he moved to Málaga in 2000.
At first he had to play for the third team that was representing the club in the championship of Andalusia in his age category. The team of Jesús took the third place there. But Duarte developed quickly and two years later he was promoted to the second team of the club. In 2000 Duarte was called up for participation in the children championship of Spain. His team managed to qualify easily to the main grid of the tournament eventually getting the third position.
Jesús was in the juniors’ team since 2001 till 2003. During his stay there he won the championship among the youth teams beating Espanyol in the final round.
In 2003 Jesús was promoted to Málaga B when his team won promotion from the Segunda B. Having spent three years playing for the reserve team Jesús became a main squad player. He obtained such a privilege in the season 2005/06.
Jesus made his debut for the first team in a game against Getafe but was given only 5 minutes of playing time then. By the end of that season his club got relegated but Duarte became an integral part of the squad in that same period. Jesús tried hard playing for the main team and it earned captainship for him as he revealed his leadership qualities. Jesús has played 210 games for Málaga with 1 goal since 2005.
