Joel Obi is a midfielder for Inter. He was born on 22 May 1991 in Lagos, Nigeria.
In 2005 Joel entered the Internazionale youth system among other young talents. From the very start Joel was one of the best students at the academy due to his strong motivation and determination. Joel Obi, just as other Inter students, badly wanted to join the club’s first team and after 5 years of intense training and convincing performance with Inter youth squad his dream came true.
In 2010 Internazionale offered Joel a professional contract and a regular spot in the starting lineup. In the summer of 2010 Joel eagerly agreed to Inter’s offer and signed a long-term contract with the club to continue his ascension and development in Italian pro football. Starting from 2010 Joel has frequently appeared in the starting lineup despite his inexperience and intense competition within the team. Since 2010 Joel Obi has made 38 appearances and netted 1 goal for the club from Milan.
In the season 2013/2014 he represented Parma on loan.
Starting from 2011 Joel Obi has been often called up to represent Nigeria national team.
