Joseph Makhanya. Biography

A South African footballer Joseph Makhanya plays for Moroka Swallows as a right winger. He was born on 15 September 1981 in Dobsonville.

Joseph started his career with playing for the youth team of Kagiso Porto. His outstanding performance attracted attention of Orlando Pirates. After the preliminary test had been passed, Makhanya entered the club’s academy, where he spent the rest of his junior career. In 2000, the winger earned the promotion to the club’s senior side. He stayed with Pirates for almost eleven years, netting six balls in 140 matches.

In 2011, Joseph had a brief spell at Mpumalanga Black Aces. He made eleven appearances for the temporary side. The same year, he was scouted by Moroka Swallows.

On international level, Joseph earned one call for the South Africa national side in 2006.
