Joshua Kennedy is an Australian striker currently playing for the Japanese top-flight side Nagoya Grampus. He was born on 20 August 1982 in Wodonga, Australia.
Joshua started out his professional career with Australian side Carlton SC in 1999. Having played there for only one season, he moved to German Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg. However, due to high competition at the club Kennedy was given little playing time amassing only 8 league matches for two seasons. Thus, he then played for German lower-league sides such as Stuttgarter Kickers and Dynamo Dresden. In the 2006/07 season, the forward moved to FC Nuremberg and helped them to win the German cup. For his strong performances at Karlsruher SC, he was named the Bundesliga Player of the Month in February 2008. In 2009, Kennedy moved to Japan where he signed for the J-League side Nagoya Grampus. He was an instrumental figure during the 2010 and 2011 seasons as his new team won the J. League Division 1 title and the Japanese Super Cup respectively. For his terrific performances Kennedy was named J. League Top Scorer these years.
Joshua Kennedy is regularly capped to the Australia national team since 2006.
