Juan Francisco Torres (or simply Juanfran) plays a right midfielder for Atlético Madrid.
He spent the start of his career playing for Kelme CF where he was raised as a professional. Then Juanfran moved to Real Madrid B at the age of 16 where he performed since 2003 till 2005. At that time he played a right midfielder but sometimes the coach tried him on a position of a striker.
In the summer of 2006 Juanfran was transferred to Osasuna. That period of his career was quite successful as he grew up as a mature footballer there. Having appeared in 147 games he scored 12 times thus attracting attention of scouts from Atlético Madrid. ‘Colchoneros’ were willing to sign the midfielder and soon, in January of 2011, Juanfran put his signature under a 3-year contract. By now he has spent 41 games for the red-and-whites scoring once.
As for his international career it can be noted that he is a winner of the U-19 European championship of 2004 that took place in Switzerland. Juanfran scored the only goal in the final match of that tournament.
